President Trump Welcomes Apple CEO Tim Cook and Announces U.S. Investment

President Trump: Thank you very much. You know this gentleman, one of the truly great legends of our time, in my book.

Before we begin, I’d like to say a few words about the shooting at Fort Stewart in Georgia. As you know, five people were seriously wounded and two very, very seriously hurt around 11:00 this morning. The shooter is now in custody, and the Army Criminal Investigation Division is on site to ensure that the perpetrator of this atrocity—which is exactly what it is—will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The entire nation is praying for the victims and their families, and hopefully they’ll fully recover. We can put this chapter behind, but we’re not going to forget what happened. President Trump Signs an Executive Order For The LA Olympics, Aug. 5, 2025

The President: Thank you very much, everybody. It’s a big day for a lot of reasons, and it’s an honor to have you in this very nice venue across the street from the White House. Thank you all for being here as we take a major step to ensure the United States is fully prepared to welcome the world to Los Angeles for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

Very exciting day of my life when we got nominated and ultimately got it. I didn’t think I’d be here for the games in this capacity, but it worked out that way. So I’m very happy about that. I had no idea that was going to happen. When we got it, I said, “Too bad I won’t be president then.” But, sort of, we took a very circuitous route, didn’t we? Trump Signs EO on President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, and the Reesetablishment of the Presidential Fitness Test

We have a lot of athletic talent and great people behind me, and we’re going to do some very important things for our country. Nobody knows LT, right? LT? Greatest ever? Lawrence Taylor. You look good. You could play right now, I think, LT. He only looked that way. Well, I’m delighted to be here with some of the truly great sports legends of all time, as we formally announce the newest members of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.

This is an important step in our mission to make America healthy again. It’s something that’s very important—what we’re doing, very important. Dating back to the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, this council has championed the vigor and strength and vitality of the American people. Today, we continue that very proud tradition. President Trump Delivers Remarks on Making Health Technology Great Again

Trump: And we have a lot of great people here, and we’ve been looking forward to this day—but we look forward to every day because we have a lot of surprises, most of which are good.

Today you saw GDP was much higher than anticipated, and—Scott—good job. Scott Bessent’s been working; just got back from a little excursion and a meeting with China and Europe, and that went well. We’ve done very well with the EU deal. It’s a very big deal, I guess. They say the biggest trade deal ever made by far. Probably is. Just completed Japan and many other countries, and hundreds of billions of dollars are flowing into our country. We’ve never seen anything even close. President Trump Signs Congressional Bill, July 30, 2025

The President: Nice to see you.

We’ve had a great weekend and, as you know, we made our deal with the European Union. The Japan deal is done. Many of the other deals are done. Indonesia was a very big deal—big country, actually—and they’re wonderful and, hopefully, wonderful for both sides. But it’s literally trillions of dollars ultimately being brought into our country. And it was something that had to be done, and it is being done—and it’s being done properly.

We’re now negotiating with various other countries, and the rest we’re just sending out the bill to. We send a bill. We send a letter saying that you’ll pay a certain tariff. Obviously, that’s most of them, because you have, as you know, hundreds of countries—a lot of countries out there. So we look at the deficit, or we look at the surplus, and we look at the country and how the country has treated us. And lots of other things go into the equation, and we make a decision as to what that tariff will be. And it’s a pretty standard letter from that point on. Keir Starmer has just announced the UK will recognize Palestinian sovereignty in September if Israel does not commit to a ceasefire, ease the suffering in Gaza, and commit to a long-term solution that would deliver the two-state solution in the Middle East. President Trump Participates in a Bilateral Meeting with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Prime Minister Keir Starmer: Well, let me welcome you, Mr. President, to Scotland. It’s fantastic to be here at Turnberry with you. Thank you so much for showing us around and having this opportunity to sit in this fantastic ballroom, which is absolutely incredible, and to start talking about some of the issues that are most pressing in your country and in my country.

In particular, we’ve had the opportunity to talk about the situation in Gaza—an intolerable situation, including images of starvation. I think both of us know that we have to get to that ceasefire, and we have to increase humanitarian aid. Thank you for what you’ve already been doing, are doing, and are committed to, because without you this would not be capable of resolution. President Trump Greets the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

President Trump: Thank you all very much. Do you have any questions?

Reporter: You’re going to come down on steel, aluminum?

President Trump: Excuse me?

Reporter: You’re going to come down on steel or aluminum, or auto parts, or anything?

President Trump: Well, we’re in great shape. The trade deal was made with the UK. The Prime Minister – they did a great job. You know, they’ve been trying to make that deal for 12 years, and he got it done. So everybody respects it. There’s going to be a lot of jobs for here, and great for America.
